Defending Caribbean Premier League (CPL) champions St Lucia Kings have made a big statement ahead of the CPL 2025 by signing IPL star Tim David as their first-round draft pick. However, the Kings will be without last season’s title-winning captain Faf du Plessis, who will feature in The Hundred for Southern Brave instead.
Meanwhile, Guyana Amazon Warriors re-signed Imran Tahir, who returns at 46, and added Moeen Ali to bolster their squad. Moeen has chosen the CPL over The Hundred this year.

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR), four-time CPL champions, landed Pakistan’s pace duo Mohammad Amir and Usman Tariq. Veteran Colin Munro and the Bravo brothers, Darren and coach Dwayne, also return to the TKR camp, while marquee stars Pollard, Russell, Narine, and Pooran were all retained.
The Antigua & Barbuda Falcons picked allrounders Imad Wasim and Shakib Al Hasan early in the draft. Rising Afghan spinner AM Ghazanfar, already turning heads in the T20 Blast, will also join the Falcons.
Other notable movements include:
Waqar Salamkheil shifting to St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Azmatullah Omarzai joining Barbados Royals Kiwi power-hitter Bevon Jacobs making his CPL debut with Falcons Glenn Phillips joining the Warriors, and Tim Seifert staying with the Kings
In an exciting move to promote local talent, the CPL has mandated the inclusion of at least one player from the new Breakout League in every playing XI. Ackeem Auguste (Kings), Joshua Da Silva (TKR) and Jyd Goolie (Patriots) are among the young prospects joining CPL teams.
The complete CPL 2025 squads feature a blend of star power, emerging talent, and global T20 veterans, setting the stage for another thrilling season of Caribbean cricket.
